The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra's International Conducting Competition for Chinese Music aims to continually nurture outstanding Chinese music conductors. Since its inception, the competition has become a significant platform for young Chinese music conductors worldwide to showcase their talents. The competition will hold its fifth edition in collaboration with the Wuxi National Orchestra.
The preliminary and semi-final rounds took place in Wuxi. The semi-finals and finals will be held in Hong Kong, featuring a performance by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. In the final concert, the three finalists will each perform a designated repertoire, including representative works that blend traditional and modern styles, thereby showcasing their musical interpretation and conducting charisma.
