6th AAiSS (2013/14) Nominate your ambassadors now!

The Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme (AAiSS) has over the years amassed an alumni of more than 4,000 Arts Ambassadors. Let us review the diverse arts activities, “Creative Arts Day Camp” and “Cultural Leadership Youth Camp”, that the Arts Ambassadors have participated in.

Creative Arts Day Camp (Creative Arts Workshop)
It is the core event of the scheme that takes place over the Easter weekend every year. Arts Ambassadors are split into groups to take part in their choice of workshops – drama, dance, music, visual arts and photography and more – under the guidance of seasoned artists, when they unleash their artistic potentials in a dynamic process of exploration and practice with like-minded students from other schools to spread the positive energy of the arts.

What makes the scheme even more meaningful is that the participants, coming from different schools are brought together in the spirit of social harmony in the arts. The tie-in workshops provided Arts Ambassadors with comprehensive training in the different techniques of artistic creation while offering them the chance to watch artists at work in situ.

The activities took artists and students on a city excursion to Kowloon City after which they worked in small groups to showcase the unique local flavours of the district through their artistic creations.

Cultural Leadership Youth Camp
It is the first time to have a joint initiative with the University of Hong Kong’s Advanced Cultural Leadership Programme, inviting local and international arts and cultural practitioners who brings with them knowledge of cultural management, understanding of the roles of arts administration and invaluable practical experience in fostering the next generation of cultural leaders among the 20 Arts Ambassadors.
