The series of “Meet-the-Artist” and “Exchange Tour” open the eyes of Arts Ambassadors to a much boarder artistic horizon. To encourage Arts Ambassadors to get involved and enjoy the fun of arts, the Scheme offers them an exciting array of activities.
 
Meet-the-Artist
 
The series brings Arts Ambassadors face-to-face with artists at their work studios or creative bases, where they see their creative processes up-close and exchange thoughts on the arts during a one-of-a-kind experiential journey. The artists have been invited to share and exchange with Arts Ambassadors included: Visual Artists Kacey Wong, Wong Tin-yan, Chow Chun-fai, Wilson Shieh, Koon Wai-bong and Maron Bouillie; Sculptor Kum Chi-keung and Jaffa Lam; Musician Ng Cheuk-yin and Leon Ko; Playwright Candace Chong and Olivia Yan; New Media Artist Hung Keung, Performing Artist Frog King, Chinese Opera Actor Lai Yiu-wai, John Chan from Postgal Workshop and Lighting Designer Lau Ming-hang.
 
 
 
 
 
Taipei Arts & Culture Tour
 
From 26–30 December this year, 24 Arts Ambassadors will set off on the ‘Taipei Arts & Culture Tour’ to broaden their cultural vistas by getting to know, understand, appreciate and experience the vibes of cultural Taipei. Besides visiting to Taiwan’s arts groups and organisations, cultural facilities and exhibitions, where they will acquire a deeper understanding of local arts and culture, Arts Ambassadors will take part in hands-on workshops and meet face-to-face with local arts administrators to learn from their wisdom in a cross-cultural exchange.
 
  
 
A stroll through museums: feasting on visual arts
Participants will visit the Juming Museum, the largest outdoor museum in Taiwan, and a number of international exhibition venues, such as the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MoCA).
 
Revitalise and preserve: blending history, art and life
Visits to arts and cultural facilities converted from historical buildings, such as The Red House, Treasure Hill Artist Village and SPOT – Taipei Film House.
 
Cultural and creative industries: nurturing creativity and igniting new ideas
Visits to the strongholds of the cultural and creative industries, including the Ri Xing Type Foundry and Huashan 1914 Creative Park.
 
Succession and continuance: blowing the trumpet for traditional arts and culture
Visits to the Lin Liu-Hsin Puppet Theatre Museum and the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum, where the succession and promotion of traditional arts and crafts are kept strong.
 
Sharing the joy of the arts with friends
 
A diverse range of professional arts groups contributes to the AAiSS as event partners, offering Arts Ambassadors an exciting array of arts activities and information, including: performances, workshops, open rehearsals, seminars and guided exhibition tours, while also extending invitations to fellow students of Arts Ambassadors to share the joy of the arts. Free performances on offer included: Hong Kong Ballet’s Live Your Dreams, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s Farewell Snow in the Summer and in the Thoughts, Opera Hong Kong’s The Flying Dutchman, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts’ HSBC Creative Minds Through Performing Arts, Hong Kong Dance Festival’s Hong Kong Street Dance Camp 2013 and Dancing.
